Hey any Fender guru's out there? I'm trying to find some info on my bass. I just bought an Fender American Jazz 5 a week or two ago. It's a fretless. Problem is I don't think Fender ever made a Jazz 5 string fretless. I bought it from Guitar Center (of course) and they assured me that it was an original fretless and not a defretted one. Upon further investigation, I cannot locate any info on a fretless ever being made in that model. So I'm a little pissed. It seems to me that this may totally destroy the value of the bass I bought. When I thought I was getting a good deal, I may have in fact been shafted. So I'm looking to you my fellow fuzz lovers. I need to know if this thing has any value, otherwise I'm going to return it.
PICS
Pro job if it was defretted
Minor scuff...who cares?

Actually a TB member pm'd me and brought this to my attention. I was just trying to see what kind of trades I'd get for this. Maybe I'll take it back and get a better amp.

Ok. I took it back to Guitar Center and the dude was like "yea that's definitely a defretted bass". He gave me this puzzled look that said "what the fuck do you want me to do about it?" So I returned it and bought a new bass cab/head which I needed anyway. Annoying situation but partially my fault for buying it without doing some searching before purchasing.
The bass was a 2005 according to the serial #. I looked all over the place for a fretless in that year and couldn't find anything. I think I dodged a bullet here.
