Not sure this really fits in this thread...but up until about a month ago...I had no idea that Freddie Mercury's real name wasn't..well..atleast the Freddie part This is related to the fact that I discovered that he was actually of "Persian" ancestry? (that was his own term, I think...saw it in a documentary on Ovation)
IIRC Freddie's ethnicity was a sub-group that lived/lives in the mountainous areas of what is now Iran/Iraq, and his people's native religion is Zoroastrianism; he spent some of his growing-up in Zanzibar, where his father was a diplomat. he was a fascinating guy. the thing i love about Freddie is that his whole being, his whole success, was an act of will. as i once said on another forum, he was beautiful because he believed he was beautiful, and loved because he proclaimed that he was loved. he was the Self-Created Man.

Yes, the pursuit of an impossible "tone". If I'm watching a video for a buffer, don't say "You're losing mad tone without it," just freakin' say you lose some high end because of the cable length. I don't want you to tell me something will improve my tone, based on your preconceived notion of what tone is, just let me hear it.
Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.

I haven't had a haircut in 4 years. The advantage of having super curly hair is that even when it's actually really long, it curls up enough to only reach my shoulders.

i had a bunch of long dead ends off back in the spring; before that i hadn't had mine cut in, like, forever. you can see it in my picture in the "Let's See You" thread from last November. i think i'm going to get it cut back to shoulder length soon, because it's a pain in the ass and because i have to render myself marginally presentable for potential job interviews HA HA
