I am currently fuzz-less at the moment and I have is my Empress Super Delay.
While this is bad ass delay it has an added feature of a 10 second looper! I spent close to an hour trying to run a loop but my phrase would have a dead drop at the end. While I am not a top notch player by any means I would like to get better at looping before YET another looper (had both an RC2 and RC20 )
I would love tips on creating loops and phrases. I know that 10 seconds is short but impossible (DL4 is 14 seconds?)

I have the Superdelay as well and I've found the looper to be a bit finicky in my experience. I'd stomp when the phrase ended to start the loop and I'd still end up with a gap time and time again. I ended up just using it for textural ambient stuff where I'd just keep building up layers on top of the existing loop and I'd let it run over into the next phrase since being precise and stopping on the exact beginning of the phrase wasn't completely necessary.
I also own a Digitech Jamman Stereo which is the tiiiiiitz. Much easier to get a precise loop going and actually has tap tempo you can use for saved loops, or you can use the external footswitch to change the tempo of a loop you have in play without affecting the pitch. The quality degrades a bit but having the TT feature is pretty awesome for live use. Highry recommended prease.
But yeah, as far as tips with the SD, sometimes I found stomping the footswitch a tiiiiny bit earlier than I thought I would need to made the loop more accurate and got rid of that bitch ass gap at the end.

people say that boss has "better sound quality" or whatever for their looper, but 1 its bullshit and 2 their interface fucking sucks.
but i think they key is to think of stompin the loop like a pick of the string. stomp a bit before you strike a note and stomp as you strike the first note of the next loop of the phrase. also make sure to not start the loop the FIRST time you play the phrase otherwise you get nasty drop-off of sympathetic harmonics.
its more intuitive than it sounds once you get it. and once you start looping, you don't go back.
I'd sell the Boss Pedals and see if I could go the way of Boomerang. Just noticed you said had.
Their original Phrase Sampler (which is very, very cool) goes for about the price of those two combined on the 'bay. O
I have the III Phrase Sampler. Thing is amazing.
I will say that if you get a decent looper without that silence problem, it's a lot easier. Also, depending on the switches, in can be a lot more or less difficult than it seems.

Too true. Also, what you said bout pressing the switch as you hit the string of the first chord again. I sometimes continue playing some of the phrase to make sure it's all good, so if it isn't, I can just erase and try again.
