Went to a local museum today: NJ Rock and Roll exhibit

Post by culturejam »

Went to the Morris Museum near my house today. They're doing an exhibit called "Jersey Rocks" and it features artists from, you guess it, NJ.

http://www.morrismuseum.org/JerseyRocks ... dRoll.html

They had some cool stuff, like a really bad-ass old jukebox and even a "personal" 8-track player.

They also had some cool gear, and I thought you guys, if anybody, would get a kick out of these. (also, I had no idea Guild was a Jersey company)

In Sussex County, just over the Morris County line. Literally, my town (Hopatcong) is the first town across the line.

Or in other terms, I'm about a hour west from NYC.

I think I saw one of those Ampegs or something similar around Milwaukee recently. Can't remember where though.

Cool stuff though. If I went there, I'd probably black out then wake up driving away from the cops with all that gear in my back seat gunning for the border.

I'm a little too far from the shore for the GTL routine.

Morristown is a great town. It's got a ton of great food, an actual real record shop owned by humans, and a nice little downtown. And it's got a nice big train station where you can catch a train into Manhattan. :thumb:

WHOOOOOO JERSEY!

I'll try and check that out before I move back to college this Friday.

And I lived in Basking Ridge for the first three years of my life. Now in a suburb of Hackensack, about 10 minutes from NYC.
