pedal parts plus has the real 1590A. the 4site is similar in size but not exactly the same thing. they both have powder and drilling services. mouser might have them in the 4 colors hammond does at the factory.

:?:

I'm holding both the Mammoth one and a real Hammond right now. They're almost identical in size. The Hammond has rounder corners, but that's basically it.

The one from Mammoth seems bigger by, like... maybe a millimeter. MAYBE.

Hammonds do tend to be made better than anything else, but not in any significant way. I paid extra for them when they were still made in North American and Europe... but they're all made in Taiwan.

I use hammond enclosures only. You don't really have any alternatives here in Austria... they are a little bit expensive but if you buy cheaper ones you have to be afraid that they break on the first stomp...

You don't? How about Musikding and Banzai? They have the taiwanese and banzai has eddystone enclosures (which are a little different in shape). Of course if you stick to walking to a shop that's a different story. But hammond are twice the price of the taiwanese, that's insane.

Yeah Musikding has great enclosures but they are located in germany and if you add the shipping costs it gets more expensive than a hammond... same for Banzai... the only time I would order from them would be when I needed a colored enclosure.. but as far as that goes- I color them myself :D

Hey, I just found a new source of enclosures here in A U S T R I A... :D

I was at my local electronics store today and he told me that he is now supplying "BOSS Enclosures".... They are cheaper than Hammonds.. A already painted black Boss enclosure costs as much as a standard gray Hammond enclosure the same size...
So :joy: for me I guess :yay:

those boss enclosures sound pretty interesting. do they come with the thumb screw for the battery under the footswitch? the spring? do they come with rubber feet or rubber bottom like ibanez? I have been trying to figure out the best way to put a battery in a pedal. I like how D*A*M does it.

No.. they are just the plain boxes- just like the hammonds... I don't really build pedals with batteries because I run everything through power supplies... and if I put a battery in then I do it the same way like the EHX Mole for example- screw the back plate off and change the battery ;) :p
