What gives about the EQD Monarch OD?

Post by Instant Dan »

Had one for the past six months and seems like it is blowing up right now. Any reason why?

It's always been popular, I for one have had one and it really is a damn great overdrive. People are finally just catching on to the fact that this is one of the gems in the current EQD production line. :thumb:

One on B/S/T for $100 right now (not mine), god damn steal! I LOVE my Monarch and agree, definitely blowing up as of late.

It loves low output single coils as much as beefy humbuckers, the EQ is actually useful, and it's loud as fuck. What's not to love?

I've been considering getting another one. Is anyone running two Monarchs on their board?

This. I have an interest in trying almost all pedals, but no real need as I have what I like already :idk: . Maybe a temp trade is in order.

I think it's great at what it does, especially at 18v. Haven't noticed it "blowing up."

I know it's found a home on my board because it does low gain well, it does high gain well, stacks really well, and sounds great on its' own...few pedals I've found can do all of these things.
Be very interested to try it at 18V...
Special low-frequency version.

Stiffened up at 18V, a bit harsher too. I prefer 9v in my setup, with the Monarch at least, but I always test voltages when allowed as it can make a pretty big difference.

I have the Monarch third in the chain after the Tone Reaper and Chrysalis, set for low gain so I run it off 18v for the extra headroom. I still don't know why I waited almost a year to buy one. :whateva:
In the last couple of months I've seen at least a half-dozen of them pop up for between $100-$125.
