Man, what is with that forum? It seems like every thread ends in a shitstorm or argument amongst the same ten guys. I wouldn't want to post there if I had to walk on eggshells all the time.

I have no idea. Someone just showed it to me the other day so I thought I'd share.

+1 on the feedback looper
eatyourguitar built me one and it is perfect.
In the loop I keep the following (all relatively cheap and capable of evil)
Boss PH-3 phaser, step phase will run into itself without even playing
Ibanez DL10 will also sound great by itself
Mellowtone Wolf CPU, sounds so flipping good feeding back on itself with either the delay of phase
Rythm and Detonation CE copy the chorus lets you get really pitchy loops (and any analog boss CE will do the same thing, I tried a CE5 and it sounded almost identical to the clone R&D built)
I mix in some other fuzz in the loop but with these 4 pedals I can get crazy sounds and I think you can pick up most of them for reasonable prices especially the Eatyourguitar Feedback looper, he is awesome and sent me it unfinished so I could paint it myself.

When I was a noisemaker, I lived and died on the infinite plate setting. Expression controllable Wet/Dry For the fucking win.

I heard there's a mod you can get for those that basically 'unlocks' the sounds from the rest of the unit, including the much loved XP-300.

i'm doing a lot of ambient solo looping stuff currently, and as i've worked my way into the concept/project i've found that the single most useful effect other than reverb/delay is a multi-function modulation unit (mine is the TC SCF chorus/flanger)...

I was looking into the Electro Harmonix POG 2 for something along these lines, also, as it has really impressive tracking, but I'd probably be running that in my main board. Thumbs up on the Tone-Lok tip, will go looking at some of those now.

I would recommend a Wah pedal or some kind of lowpass filter. With that you can instantly go from high to low frequencies, and everywhere in between. Really animates your sound and you can do it with your foot while your fingers are working elsewhere.

Good call, I'll be looking at some of those options in a big way. I was checking out something called the Jomox T-Resonator, that looked insane and seemed to have a ridiculous number of ways to make a wobble.

NoiseGuide is a strange place. People need to chill. Thanks though dude, gleaned some interesting tidbits whilst I was lurking there.

Don't discount running a chain of cheapness i.e. DOD stuff, ibanez Soundtanks etc. perhaps in different signal chain than the good stuff.
