Anybody had this?

Spotted it last weekend at my local Piggly Wiggly last weekend and with packaging like that(you can't even see the other sides), I couldn't turn it down. Okay stuff. A lot hoppier than any other wheat beer I've had, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Drinking this tonight while I'm working.

Hey, if they want me to work from home on a Friday night, then they obviously have no problem with me drinking on the job, right?

It's a pretty good, but not spectacular Belgian Tripel. The spice note is muted a bit, the yeast note is quite good, but the alcohol spikes a bit more than I like. Usually a well made Tripel has enough tastes flying around to hide the alcohol burn, but there is still a touch of it in this one. I'd say that it's above-average and certainly drinkable, but I'm not doing backflips.

OK, wow, these things pack a wallop. Probably a bad idea for me to be fucking with the BGP configurations on our backbone routers after 5 of these damn things.

This morning, every user on the network wakes up to the message "Would. You. Like. To. Play. A. Game? Thermonuclear War: Y/N"

On a beer note, I finally found a beer that was too sweet for me: Southern Tier Creme Brulee Milk Stout. Like drinking a bottle of melted ice cream, in a bad way. Of course, I still finished the bottle (it got a little better as it warmed, but not much). And then had actual ice cream later in the night.

Just back from a week at the beach. Since we stayed just south of Milton/Rehoboth, I basically drank all different kinds of Dogfish Head for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

A beer thread!! Every time I poke around a little more on this site, I find something else to love!

Due to the ridiculously mild CA summer so far (while the rest of the country burns), I've been supplementing my normal summer mainstay, the mighty mighty Trumer Pils, with some other goodies. For whatever folly of the gods, Pliny the Elder has become sporadically available in at least 3 stores within 5 miles of my house!! They only deliver once a month, and allocations are very tight, but if you get lucky...jackpot! A really fine beer.
Also, tried the Shipwrecked Double IPA from Mission Brewery. A fantastic beer. Really really fragrant.
I really dig the Maui Brewing Coconut Porter (in cans, how trendy). You'll want to hate it, but you won't. I stocked it at a party with a bunch of my sissy-beer hating buddies, and every last one of those strapping manly men drank the hell out of it.
Palo Alto Brewing Company came up with their own coconut porter called Barley Legal (get it?), but it's not nearly as good as the Maui.

FWIW, my palate is strongly calibrated to the bitter side of things. I don't like more than just a hint of malt in most instances. My staples, other than Trumer, are Racer 5, Red Rocket, and Hop Rod Rye (my favorite). I'm a Bear Republic fanboy, fer sure.

Hey just a heads up to any still looking for bitches brew. Stop. Dont pay for that shit. Its all gone bad by now and this is confirmed by several in the dogfish camp, including sam himself. I know there are people selling it at crazy markups right now but im telling you i threw out two bottles this week. Shit has skunked.

Speaking of Dogfish... Had a 4-pack of Midas Touch last night. The first few were great, but by the 4th, I was tired of the taste. I would suggest never drinking more than 2 at a time, then switch to more conventional stuff.
