Or he just got done eating a vegan brownie and was only dusting off his hands.

Never played tubes before. Any suggestions fellow bassists? Used is probably the best way to go obviously, but what do good tube amps run price wise? Any help would be appreciated. Not looking for a specific sound really, just something that sounds nice and warm.
Just do what I do and use a guitar amp and a sans amp. Oh wait it's your brothers amp, I played guitar in my last band and didn't have money to buy a bass amp and cab so I just use a 1973 Musicman HD-130 and an Orange 4x12 and a 1980 JCM800 cab. Sounds so much better than an ampeg and fridge cab.
I've recorded every release with my current band with guitar amps. Sovtek, JCM900, Musicman and a Fender twin and the pressing company actually had to send the master back because the bass was so loud they couldn't cut the wax.
restorations.bandcamp.com to see how a bass can sound through guitar amps and cabs.
I'm liking the bass sound

Re: Let's see your AMP!
Finally got the bitch serviced which meant they could finally put on the faceplate and knobs as I'm a retarded idiot who, well, can't...

I am really liking how it sounds. It has a GEC KT66 and an RCA 6v6 (I have a fair few of each bought all before the tube-craze) which will last me a life time and she's all biased up right so it's exactly how I've always wanted it to sound. Kinda like a Champ on 'roids with a splashy short-verb and absolutely p.h.a.t. with the KT66. I've also used it via the DI input at the back to great effect through a PA or whatever. I've posted it a few times but it finally has the bottom plate attached as well as the white face plate and the Matamp knobs so when in Rome...
I don't have any photos of what it looked like initially but it was pretty f-n ugly man; lol.
