I think the prices are still reasonable...especially considering most of the pedals are 4 knobbers with circuits slightly more complex than your average fuzz.
They've also got a whole team over there, not just a one-man shop.

Mouths to feed/shop costs etc.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

Oh they certainly aren't ridiculous and Catalinbread are not at all greedy for doing so (their pedals are still a great value), it just sucks when prices go up even if they have a good reason :(

However, since some are nearly two bills to buy new that puts them in the same price range as Wampler; and if I were buying a distortion or overdrive I would probably lean towards Wampler now that they are in about the same range :idk:

I'm a little late to the party, but I would also check out an Xotic AC Booster. I had an AC+ for a while and it would probably sneak onto my "Top 5 Favorite Overdrives" list.

I am interested in hearing how the CB30 pans out. No doubt it will sound good. Catalinbread has a pretty solid reputation. I think the new graphics on drive pedals are a big step in the blah direction from what they had previous... especially on the WIIO, FN5, SFT. But I'm a rare bird who ranks visual aesthetics as high as aural pleasure.

From demos I've watched, it sounds a bit harsh for my liking.

Really dislike the new CBread finishes though. Powdercoat is definitely an upgrade where durability is concerned but new designs are not aesthetically pleasing.

We've been powdercoating the pedals for a number of years now.

As far as the graphics. I wanted simple & clean - I also wanted something more rugged for the person who uses our pedals. I started Catalinbread when I was 23 years old. I did a lot of the early graphics. I am 32 now. My taste has evolved. I got tired of "busy" looks, not to mention there are enough busy looking pedals out there...

Besides, people complained about our earlier graphics, folks complain no matter what we do. Since I can't please everybody, it is best that I aim to do what makes us happy. After that all we can do is hope, like we've always done, that musicians join us for the ride.

I suspect thats what you folks do when it comes to making your music. You grow, evolve, and make what resonates with you. Other folks whom get it, GET it. Sure as heck beats focus groups or other nonsense a band like Metallica does.

Very true fishballs, well said. And I agree, no way to please 'em all, never gonna happen.
