Slumberland used to have good bands now its all bands that
worship C86 bands and Black Tamborine(which isn't bad)
I remember when the had The Aisler Set,Hood,The Lilys,etc,etc......
come to think of it Yuck reminds me of that particular era

So this came out today and best buy didn't get it. And the local shop that doesn't suck didn't have power (wtf? pay your bills). And they wonder why brick and mortar is failing :whateva: Amazon to the rescue!

Fat possum published it, which I think is weird...but then I looked at their website and saw that they don't just publish R.L. Burnside anymore (probably because he's dead or something maybe). They are in oxford, I should drive down one weekend.

I've got to disagree with you, I don't know many current bands similar to Yuck, especially not any doing it better.

I'd say Pains is much closer to something on Sarah records, think Field Mice but a bit more driving.
Weekend, is basically fuzzed out noise, Don't get me wrong I love the band but they're nothing similar to Yuck.
Procedure club is female fronted, more in line with Indie pop meets Talulah Gosh.

I'd say Yuck is much more influenced by the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Pulp, and 90's alternative rock in general.

My dad was going on about them a week ago or something but I forgot about it, they're pretty cool. Some of the tunes get kinda boring, I feel like there must be better stuff or they totally will make something really good in the future.

Saw them live in May, have gave the album a few spins since, not bad, nothing original but a decent listen.

i was kinda meh when i heard about them because noise-pop is one of the "new things" for the past few years, but they're sorta growing on me.

I don't mind them, the album wears thin pretty fast though. They sound a little bit too much like a 90's bands for me.

I enjoy the album, don't regret the buy. If anything it was worth it just to blast Rubber in my car. Fun and easy album, nothing too phenomenal, but good tunes are good tunes.
