You have to play loud with this one... not very good at low volume.

The Formula No. 5 sounds like it both adds some extra character and doesn't go very low gain. The Liquid Sunshine is definitely not a bedroom players pedal. It really likes to be loud.

If getting super hi-gain isn't a concern, the Barber LTD is very transparent and gets more than enough drive for most rock guitarists. Not a good choice if you're a noise or metal guitarists but it's a fantastic pedal (just like everything Barber makes).

Unbelievable on its own, wide range of eq tones and gain, and stacks with others incredibly.
Special low-frequency version.
