When I compare the Pharaoh into a clean amp to the Electric Amp MV120 I sometimes feel like Mark built a $150 alternative to a $2500 uber amp.

That's about as big of a compliment as I can give to BAT. Most of you know how smitten I am with both BAT and EAI.

Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

So in the middle its cool, in down or up position there is a VERY noticable volume drop ... so thats the only minus :)

just had to put that here :D

Yea, that's normal, the "No Diodes" setting is definitely loudest with the least clipping.

Silicon next, less volume and more clipping.

Germ last, least headroom and most clipping. I hit unity with Vol around 3 'o clock on Germ setting. Have to adjust unfortunately when switching settings.

The diode noise drop thing is unavoidable. The diodes are literally chopping off part of the waveform and limiting the signal peak.

It seems to me that the Pharaoh's volume drop is much more noticeable at small amp "bedroom" volumes...when my V4 is opened up, the difference between the three settings is minimized. Still there for sure but not so pronounced.
MAN that diodes out position is the nuts :!!!:
Anyone heard if there are plans for custom color LSTRs? I had convinced myself based on the demos that I didn't need one, being SO very happy with Pharaoh...but here I am...
Special low-frequency version.

Sadly there are no custom color options for the LSTR, not yet at least...

Check one out though, so BAD ASS, you'll be surprised! Both pedals can reside on your board with little to no overlap, very different beasts but equally awesome, imo.

Well, almost equally awesome. I still prefer the Pharaoh but it's way closer than I ever expected.

The new LSTR will be my next fuzz purchase...probably will be a few months before I do that though.

Dude dont wait so Long. Im in love with LSTR. Heavy as a ship! I really like the Pharaoh but LSTR really hit my spot. Fuzz all the way, tone al the way to the left, scoop all the way to the right and wolume at 1 Oclock. Some heavy ass tones!

Here is an interview I did with Mark, very cool guy and I can't wait to see what's next from him :thumb:

Thanks Mike. My pleasure. I am totally surprised that anyone would give a rats ass what I have to say. :idk:

Now if you can, do a Pharaoh in a small enclosure, and maybe a deluxe version with a Superfuzz(or Rat or Pharaoh)->Pharaoh.

No can do. Sorry. Too much shit for the small bucket.

Agree with that, it's a nice change from the whole reviewing stuff and it looks behind the courtains / at the people. I would love if you asked them for pics of themselves too. Putting just pictures of pedals in there makes it seem a little lifeless.

May I suggest Alan from Mountainking?

I've got a great photo of Mark from when we went up to Chicago but he might murder me if I posted it. :p

and nice interview Mike. That was a good read.

Murder? No. You can fix your own broken shit and forget about #4s from here on out though.

Tis true, they look really nice and are in all new Pharaoh and LSTR pedals. :excellent:

No, I'm really not. I am ball deep and fighting a motorcycle addiction though. I should spend more time in forums with alla yinz good dudes, but I really don't have much time to do so. During this nice weather, I try to ride whenever I get a free moment...
Wes Mantooth wrote:Yeah I love all the color combinations of the Pharaoh, I'm hoping to see some custom LSTR colors out there as well!
No custom LSTR pedals, although I do have a LSTR Green bouncing around my mind the last few days. Maybe something with some ability to achieve lower gain options ala Pharaoh.

Thanks, that amp did resonate in my head when designing the Pharaoh.

Absolutely true. Loud/ dirty amps and using the Pharaoh with the volume high definitely reduce the volume differences in the clipping options.

THANKS to all of you for your support and good words. It's a great feeling to know that I am helping people achieve their tonal goals. Most definitely the most rewarding part of this process.

Mark u def build some wicked ass pedals! and i know the speed addiction habit ive got a 94 supra that pulls 10.2 at 145 with an over 200 mph top speed....... giggity.... but anyways, i just picked up my LSTR this weekend and jammed on it yesterday.... dude you nailed the power tubes melting in a true matamp tone in an affordable stompbox, i plugged it in and after running through our set a couple times im blown away by the tonal variations and the low end capabilities. if you ever build an analog delay sign me up as customer number 1!

p.s. do u pronounce it lester or luster?
