My Jet City Amplification System failed

Today at practice my jet city amp stopped producing sound and when I inspected it further it was smoking. It no longer works and when I turn it on it just produces a hum.

its probably the transformer. thats why it smells and its bleeding 60hz hum from the wall power. that amp is designed by mike soldano who is the fucking man. but its also made to sell at a lower price point. it doesn't have his name on it. hence the transformer is too small for that amp. an amps maximum volume is basically a result of everything thats in it. but really its a case of the weakest link. if you put a bigger transformer in it, you could blow something else. it never ends. but thats only if you crank it again. you can get the same transformer or you can get a slightly larger one. anything you do yourself you do at your own risk. its not as easy or as safe as working on pedals but its not that hard either. if there is a transformer mod kit for it on the internet, then there will be detailed instructions as well.

Also, invest in some nice power surge/conditioners. While your problem may not be directly correlated to a surge, it always makes me feel 100x better when I'm using mine.
