not the rarest in the world but definitely the rarest thing Boss ever put in production. it's the most bizarre fuzzbox i have ever heard

That's awesome. never seen one in real life -- it's kinda an octave fuzz right? Anything like a BeeBaa?

yeah, i can never make my mind up about what this pedal resembles the most. it's kind of a Tycobrahe Octavia with the ring modulation and the scrambled 'crash' sound but it has the same massive amount of distortion that you find in a Bee Baa or a Superfuzz. probably the closest i think the Japanese ever got to the Purple Haze sound :thumb:

I got onto him last year as soon as he mentioned snagging a bag of those trannies. It's a wicked little thing. I keep looking to see where he scraped off the original labels :lol:

Just got one of Antti's Mk1.5s too, which is real crunchy.

Haven't seen alot of info on them, but there was alot of Japanese guitar gear (and analogue synths) sold here in the 70's. I've never seen one of these before, in all my time on forums and ebay. Apparently they were a Japanese version of the Big Muff (according to another forum) but I have read that they came out in 1970, doesn't that pre-date the Big Muff? Anyways, will let you know
