Yeah, I did a similar thing. Learned bass and drums, but the problem is I'm not good enough on drums for what I want to play. Also, I'd still need people to perform with.

I'm trying to set something up with a friend of mine that plays amazing technical bass.

It would be Death/Doom (occasionally ambient) Metal, with basses filling the traditional roles of both bass and guitar. I have been having a lot of fun playing bass recently and want to go easy on the guitar playing for a while.

Me - Rhythm Bass (w/ Overdrive/Distortion/Fuzz) - and - Keyboard
My friend Nate - Lead 6 String Bass (Clean-ish)
Mystery drummer person :?:

or turn mean. or both. in fact, it's a near certainty that one or the other will happen. hardly anyone stays good-looking or desireable as they age, and almost any two people, whether they're in a sexual/romantic relationship or not, will get sick and tired of each other after ten or twenty years of constant exposure to each other. how many bands that have been together for 20 years still have all their original members? and of those who do, how many still like each other?

When I first read this, I read it has, 'at some point she will start wearing Ugz.' (is it Ugz or Uggs? I've seen it both ways, but I don't know which is right.) What's more, I didn't realize at first that I had read it incorrectly.

They always change in some way. Usually - maybe always - in a negative way. It's a shame, and I don't really get it. To me, part of loving someone is always wanting to be the best version of yourself. In just about any way I can think of I've improved in the past almost 6 years I have been with my girlfriend. For her - and most women I know - it seems the opposite. They start being less healthy, get less exercise, stop trying to learn new things, etc. It infuriates me.

i've come to the sad conclusion that part of it's me...i'm not an easy or pleasant person to deal with, and after awhile it makes you mean and bitter. but that doesn't make it any less heartbreaking. i really miss the person i started seeing in 1998; i really don't like the version of that person i live with today at all. but then, i could say the same thing about myself.
