Re: ILFest - Sept 2-3, 2011 in Milwaukee - ZOMG!

Post by mathias »

Hi guys.

Sorry for the lack of updates - I've been living in Madison out of a suitcase, as it were, and working crazy hours.

I'll pick up communication with the Borg Ward again. There was no confirmation about scheduling the dates or how I should pay for it when I tried to book the show.

There is a backup venue if we need it, but it's not as cool as the Borg Ward.. much, much bigger though, with a lot of parking... it's the Milwaukee Makerspace. We held a gallery night there awhile ago and it turned out great.. time lapse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORlzEETz ... ideo_title

I will try to get things back on track. We still haven't moved, which is a huge pain in the ass, because I am never home in Milwaukee. Moving should happen by August 1st at the latest, and after that I'll be spending as much time as possible doing legwork on this.

Anyone else capable of doing some legwork in Milwaukee in the meantime?

Follow-up: I re-read my previous post and felt it was kind of shitty way to start this thread up again. I shouldn't excuse away the fact that I dropped the ball on this.

I'm sorry that I fucked up. Hopefully you guys can forgive me. Hoping that everything is still cool. If anyone needs to get ahold of me, or can't make it anymore, or wants to talk about anything, send me a PM and I'll get you my email address and/or phone number and we'll work it out. I don't think anyone has lost money over this so far, but people have certainly made arrangements and plans and begged band members to come to this, only for me to disappear.

Also, I just made this: https://twitter.com/#!/ILF_Fest Feel free to follow and/or ask me to follow your accounts. I'll be announcing some stuff through there, and we'll figure out how to get it to post to Facebook wall at the same time.

Long live ILF Fest. Rock on.

Brian?

But, in the front marquee tag, it says "marquee="
Just make it say "marquee=right" instead (obviously without the quotes)

Hm, I may be able to do things in Milwaukee. Depends on when they need to be done. My work schedule is all over the place, which especially sucks when you work nights.

and by "do things" we are talking about killing people, right?

I think the lesson I learned here is that it takes a lot more to organize something like this than one realizes when it's a nifty idea, if you've never done it. And the venue we picked makes it a lot easier than I thought that part would be.

Haven't heard back from the Borg Ward yet, but hoping they're able to let us hold the concert there. Full disclosure: It might be only one day at this point, depending on what is scheduled. Thoughts?

Errrggg, i think it'll be tough to fit everybody in with decent sets in one day. I'm really pushing for two.
