Thoughts On A Tele Custom With P-90's?

Post by kosta »

What do you guys think about this? Color me curious. I don't know much about the upgrades he's done however. Any experience with Mighty Mite necks or those pickups?

Not a Fan of the Mighty mite necks. Sold a Tele that had One. That said, i have preci and jazz bass with them. Probably i Never had Guitar neck of them that i Liked. The Tele neck was 9,25 and quite fat: somehow the guitar Never got Player so much - some Fun missing.

Seems a little pricey... Are Mighty Mite necks considered upgrades over Squier's? I seem to recall that they don't have that great of a reputation. Those pickups should be nice though.

He probably used the squier custom neck on another project cuz he didn't like the mm neck either.

I don't see the mighty mite neck or the GFS bridge as 'upgrades', just different parts @ the same quality. Have to see how you like it. If you do, offer $175 for it, not like there's any high end replacement pickups or parts in it. Squier's can be great $100-$200 guitars + modding guitars. :thumb:

At that price, even I'd have a hard time resisting that. Worst case scenario, you play it for a while, then use the parts.

Think of it as basically buying a set of Kent Armstrong P-90s and getting a complementary guitar.

$185 shipped, go for it. Then tune every string to A.
Maybe partying will help.

That should be a 'SOLD!' with the KA hot p-90's then. :omg:

If you don't like the MM neck, you can always find a used squier with a neck you like, and prob resell the 2nd squier with the MM neck for what you buy it for.

Never played with a Mighty Mite neck, but I used to have a Squier Tele Custom II,and absolutely loved the way it handled. Dae I say,Squier Necks(to me) are some of the most playable necks I've encountered. But I like beaters anyway,so my opinion may be a bit biased.
