The DL4 is dead simple and not bad
I really just want another lo-fi loop junky though.

The DL4 looper is my favorite to date, based on functionality and ease of use, capable of some really cool shit. I couldn't deal with the size of that behemoth though, considering the looper was the only feature I used, and not all that often. I assume the M9 or M13 is equally cool plus all those effects.

The lo-fi loop junky is incredibly cool and obviously very "lo-fi". I love using it for noise layering and weird vibrato-laden, scratchy sounding loops. If you want standard, multi-layered looping capability, definitely look elsewhere.

Owned the Headrush also, super easy to use and loops sounded good, too much hiss with mine though, could never get it quiet, even when bypassed. Just didn't get along with something. Replaced it with the smaller Jam Man Solo eventually which has been very solid.

Headroom can be an issue with any looper though and unfortunately not every fuzz/dirt will behave normally when looped. I've had good luck just placing them near the end of the chain, with the exception of the Headrush.

jk I have an M9 and I really like it's looping capabilities. It is a simple but effective looper.

The only loop pedal I've ever owned is the Lo-Fi Loop Junky, and I love it! I mean, like Holy Schnikes said, it is very limited in terms of functionality but I love that warbly scratchy sound. I've also used the DL4 and JamMan (the recently discontinued one), and they were both really cool. If I were to buy another loop pedal, I would probably hit up the JamMan.

I like my RC2, definitely helps to have the foot-switch to stop the loop, I hate the double tap and it makes transitions hard, the switch can be made with radio shack parts for very cheap.
My biggest issue with it is the color of the LED's I can't always tell them apart, anyone ever try to switch this??

I also have a time bender, the looper on that is short but it gives you visual cues of the time and you can also modulate the whole loop which is pretty cool, can get you almost to lo-fi territory.

I realize I answer most delay/looping questions by mentioning the time bender, but it is that good.

I had a SMMH and it was really cool but had some things that I didn't like about it. I didn't like the momentary switch for looping (even though you can mod that) and the volume drop bugged. After I got my El Capistan I didn't like the delay or reverb on it much either. It always seemed to me that if you play something along with the loop the loop would duck really noticably and that bugged me a lot too.

I guess I just ended up only using the SMMH to make crazy noises so I replaced it with something more usable for me. I never used it with my band.

i've never used a SMMH; my general experiences with the quality of E-H gear over the years have led me to avoid their stuff. maybe i should try one.

only thing i experienced with my E-H pedals was that the bypass switch on SMMH started to fuck up every few weeks while turned on... after almost 3 years of pretty frequent usage

SMMH's looper is pretty cool i can recommend it even though i sometimes had trouble with adjusting level of the loop

and i used it for live looping with cool results...

Funny as it is, it's the one mode I don't use on my Time Bender. It sounds damn nice and yea, the whole modulate the loop works, but I just like the old 2 pedal Jamman more.

This was my experience with the SMMH exactly. Don't know what EHX was thinking with the momentary switch. It's a great noisemaker but a subpar looper, imo. I returned it after a couple weeks for the refundage but I was trying to love it.
