actually new whammy isn't that larger as you may think...
Whammy DT8.2” x 7.725” x 2.35” (W x D x H)
Whammy-46.3" x 8" x 2.5" (W x D x H)
So my guess is that the whammy bar is the same small as the one on Whammy-1.
couple of quotes:
Official Digitech Page wrote:Momentary footswitch for “hammer-on” and “pull-off” effects: You can instantly create hammer-on and pull-off effects during your performance with the momentary footswitch. Hold it on for quick chord shifts or note changes during your solo or a gritty bridge.
Official manuals wrote:From the factory, the Whammy DT is set to True Bypass Mode. In this mode, the circuitry in the Whammy DT is completely bypassed when both Whammy and Drop Tune effects are off. If you have switched to DSP Bypass Mode and would like to switch back to True Bypass Mode, follow these steps...
...The benefit of using DSP bypass is so the Drop Tune Momentary footswitch can smoothly transition between momentary on and off states since the true bypass relay is removed from the circuit.
