I got the Blacktop as an Xmas gift from my wife. I always wanted a Jazzmaster but never cared to spend a but load on one seeing as how I have several Gibsons, a tele, and a strat. I like the idea of a cheaper Jazzmaster styled guitar. I do find myself longing for the single coil bridge pick up though. Alll in all I love the feel of the neck and the sound. The middle position is heaven on my clean plexi. The neck alone is worth it. Best I have played.
Are any standard Mustang bridges 9.5" radius? If you're anal about the radius matching, I guess there's the Warmoth modified Mustang bridge with adjustable saddle height. $47.
[edit] Ah, just clicked through and saw that the "standard" Warmoth Mustang bridge is already adjustable. So solution was already offered. Carry on, then.

Resurrecting this thread deliberately. Does anybody know for certain which of (or both of) these will work in a Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster with no issues whatsoever(open the box, plop it in, throw some strings over it and you're good to go)? -The Warmoth for $47.50 or... -The Allparts $35.99?
Just ordered the Allparts one. Wish me luck.

Ugh, that is some elitist bullshit right there.
That said, the blacktop bridge is shit. I switched to mustang bridge, works pretty well. On more traditionally spaced Jags/JMs nothing beats Mustang+Buzzstop. That shit is unstoppable. BUt the blacktop has the trem pretty clse to the bridge, can't really squeeze a buzzstop in very well.

I can vouch for the Mastery Bridge...My jag is a completly new guitar with it. I'm all about putting better bridges and pickups on cheaper guitars. The only problem is the price and the wait time on the mastery bridge. I think it's like 3 weeks.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.
Just installed it this afternoon and I don't want to get ahead of myself and say it's super awesome, the All-Parts bridge seems to be a great match for this guitar.
