Bass guitar is a form of guitar otherwise it would no be called a bass guitar to say otherwise is silly and pointless. The offset part of a Jazz Bass is the same basic shape as a Jazzmaster. And don't listen to nieh for nieh is a known bass-ist :grumpy:

I know that it has an offset waist, and I would love to count them I have 2, and I love them, but I think this is pretty much a semantics issue. Basically the question is, when you think offset waste guitar do you think Jazz bass? And.....No I don't. Maybe it is a cognitive disorder but even though the dictionary definition would prove that a Jazz Bass is an offset waste guitar I still don't think it is. And you can't make me.

Yeah I thought it was and I thought that it was pretty much unquestionable. However there seemed to be a few people in the other thread who didn't agree and I thought it made for some interesting points. I also wanted to have a poll to go along with it, I made it so you can change answers too so if someone made a really awesome swaying argument you could change your mind.

Like if someone says "hey I just got an offset waist guitar" I would never think jazz bass.
