My bandmate has a ginormous HDTV (something like 50 inches), and it is kay-ray-zee. I have to admit, I didn't think I was going to drink the HD Kool-Aid, but it's pretty amazing in person. Like having your own personal movie theater, but with unbelievable image resolution & fantabulous sound.

The best thing is this HD music channel that he gets called Palladia. They broadcast a lot of HD concert footage, and it is stunning. Watched the last NIN tour concert in HD and simply could not look away. Same for ZZ Top & AC/DC... even Heart...

The funny thing is that we haven't watched that many actual movies on it... between the HD Discovery Channel shows and Palladia, we're pretty hooked...

I've got a 32inch...I guess on the smaller side, but its still huge (especially in my walk in closet sized room).

HD is great depending on what service you have. I used to have directv and it looked amazing. Using the cable company to save money now...their hd isn't quite "hd"...somewhere in between.

Blurays are phenomenal, I never want to watch another dvd again. Especially if you have a nice sound system. PS3 is a decent investment even if you don't game...it is one of the best bluray players out there. Can use it for distributed computing...do some protein folding or something when not watching movies and help cure a disease :idk:

I still rock a 19" beater...but my friends have HD.
It's great for stuff shot on film. But, if I was a TV actor or TV personality, I would hate it. Your run of the mill shot-on-video shows reveal high definition pimples, wrinkles, sweat beads, plastic surgery scars....etc. Little too much information?
The grain of OG TV can actually be a good thing. Like a little bit of plate reverb to smooth things out.

For watching films though, go all out! Surround sound and all!

Computers are comin' with Blu Ray and high def screens now... I know there's one HP laptop with a 1080i screen... Plus, I guess you could just hook up a computer to your HD screen since most newer ones have an HDMI output...

I don't know where I was going with this. I just think it's neat that computers and TVs are so compatible with each other now.

I have a 27" HDTV. LOVE IT. Got a HDMI cable so it boosts all my DVDs into HD without my buying that stuff.

First thing I watched....Planet Earth.

Maybe time for a limited run dual joystick combo pedals? :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:

That new movie The Fall is amazing on bluray!! I've got a decent sized HD tv and I enjoy it for my movie watching. And Anthony Bourdain (sp?).

I've got a large 400 DVD collection. And 0 bluray  . I wish I had em on bluray. A cool thing though is the Roku box. It's 99 bucks and let's you stream some 12,000 different netflix movies for like 9.99 a month. Or you can rent from amazon.

Anyone knows which resolution or definition has got a human eye?
