BTW, this is priced at . . .
$169!

Good lawd. I might have to scrap the EB-0 idea and pick one of these up if I'm GASing for a shortscale again.

But...I really don't need any more basses right now.

Yeah, I really don't need to buy anything else, but I'm kinda worried that these are gonna sell well and the price will rocket off, which is often what Fender does (see: Blacktops, CV series, Active Jazz Bass, etc.).

My friend owns one just like this, got it for like $300 used. Not the SS but it's the coolest looking Fender bass I've ever seen, wish I'd picked it up at that price. Plays great but he had to upgrade pickups almost immediately and shield some stuff, bad ass now though. I'd assume the Squires would need some upgrades also...anybody own one, how do they sound??

I've been curious about the pickups in those too, I haven't been able to play one. The stock ones in the Fender Jaguar are BUTT. They've been hanging on my fridge for a long time now.

$169 wtf?! EU price is almost twice that which isn't expensive either but still :poke:
I have no problem with the black pick guard. I hope local shops get these soon.

Fender Jaguar bass in white would have been :joy: but it was released later than the others (or was not available here) and so I got the sunburst one. I have no experience with VM series but based on comments I've read at least the split coils are really bassy.

Yeah, $300 for the Fender I totally would. $169 for the SS, very likely will. Not hot on the body, guard, or ho-hum PJ configuration, but it seems more promising than the current Bronco Bass.

I quickly tested the Squier SS few days ago in a shop. I was surprised of the weight – the body was like air. It was so light it kinda bothered me. I did like the neck. It sounded decent but it's kinda hard to compare when you play with unfamiliar amp and too low volume. And with no fuzz!
