New pedal on loan day!

Scripty MXR Blue Box with volume drop fix mod already added!

A coworker and I got to talking about pedals and he said "Aw man, I've got a whole bunch at home just sitting around. Let me know if you ever want to try some." Then he mentioned the Blue Box, and the fact that his was already modded, and I just couldn't pass it up.

Of course, I'm at work, so this thing is just sitting on my desk. Tempting me. Calling to me.

So gonna mess around with some Blue Box on bass clips this weekend. Maybe throw in the Intelliphase I got from Juilus Deane (thanks man!) in there as well. Mmmmmmmm... clipalicious...

Yeah - I've never actually played one of these bad boys before. Seems like an important gap to fill, experience-wise.

Interesting... so even with the mod, this is pretty quiet. And the switch seems to engage a 2nd level of distortion, really trebly. Possibly an octave up over the octave down? Gonna need some more time to really think about this 'un. It tracks really well, though, which is cool. But yeah, not sure if it's really "my thing."

The common volume drop mod increases the treble quite a lot. I used to have one with a switch for that. It was still just barely unity.

I think they're really cool. They have a tendency to bounce between one and two octaves down if you do it just right. I just wish Dunlop would put a fucking booster at the end of the circuit.

Never played an actual blue box, but I've heard tons of clips, and it basically sounds just like the Glitch Computer with the tracking knob all the way up. I liked it, but I felt like the Glitch Computer just gave me more options.

AH - that explains a thing or two about a thing or two.

Yeah, I like it pretty well, but I'll be giving it back to my coworker tomorrow. Glad I had a chance to try one out!
