Yep. I know at least Kahler and Hipshot make them, and I think there a few others.

Needing badly: BLACK MAKEOVER the very first, though, like, this instant. Or having the paint job burned away. Okay, sanded then, if we can't give it the full discoinferno treatment, fine. I hate those Fender 50's colors. :grumpy:

Definitely CHROME pickguard and knobs, for the toans, and a trem arm wouldn't hurt, either?

Perhaps another MM pickup closer to the bridge for MORE ATTACK 'N TREBLZ. But I haven't compared the Nordstrand pups to the others, so can't tell. I don't know about two pup's, one can be enough, really, when it's loaed with MM toans. :thumb: And with that configuration You should get a lot out of that, the jazzy one coil sound, too, with a nice preamp the MMs just get better You know. But that, umm... passive, right? :erm: :idk: Still has awfully lot onboard knobs and switches for handy tone sculpting on the fly.

What kind of price tag does this have?

Price list says $2399. Hefty for sure, but for a hand built bass, that's not too crazy.

That's what I thought too. Plus, the pickup can do the p-bass config, and a reverse p-config. And, I'm sure he'd do one without a pre-amp.

:wha?: Fender 50s car colours are beeauutiful.

The price isn't really that bad, compared to real fender stuff, but it's still probably more than I'd pay on something that wasn't fully custom.

I never knew there were so many haters of the Musicman Humbucker looking pickups...Probably my favorite looking and sounding pickup...

Why can't metalz and 50s fender colors coexist ? It's like a classic car/motorbike with fat nickle/chrome parts except you make music with it. :idk:

Sure they can coexist, don't be silly. One could also walk onstage in teal or salmon leather pants if he was man enough. Just... not in my band.

When it comes to considering the vintage looking Fenders just the tools of metal... well, it was me who recorded black metal in the 90's with a fucking telecaster to nail a slightly different sound, trebly 'n raspy 'n nasty. :p

I like it - then again I bought a Jag bass a few years ago and love that, even in the red.......
