I used to use a boss NS-2 it was pretty good once I figured out where to place it, worked best for me in the effects loop, I have an old rack hush coming in that I plan on doing the same thing with.

Gates and Noise suppressors all work pretty well depending on where you place them and how realistic your expectations are.

ISP Decimator. Works well with most styles of music with minimal change to your sound.
Other ones can be junky depending on what you play.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?

TC Electronic Nova Dynamics is good. Has two channels and also does compression. You should be able to get one for less than $120.

I much prefer to troubleshoot the entire rig until I isolate and diagnose the problem. EMI, RFI, ground loops, crappy cables, impedance mismatch etc... are the stuff I look for. once you have it figured out, you just buy the cable or the ground loop isolator you need. its usually a lot cheaper than the decimator and sounds better. if its a ground loop, check out humx. if your using two amps or a pedal with a built in power supply, you might have a ground loop. also, shield your guitar. especially if its single coils.

I own and love my Decimator, I get noise from having a bunch of fuzz engaged at once, this thing gets rid of the hiss and keeps my tone.

Did a review if you want to read more: http://effectswire.blogspot.com/2011/04 ... eview.html

Yeah I originally had it for my 5150 and Engl Fireball, once I downsized I figured I wouldn't need it but it does the trick when you have a tone of fuzz on at once :thumb:
