Everything I've played from smallsound/bigsound has revolutionized what I expect from pedals. He SERIOUSLY knows what's up.

Re: What the Fuzz!
I'm still pretty sure a Super Fuzz style octave up would be awesome for crust punk-ish guitar bashing. At least my friends ALWAYS want to lend mine. And never return it right away.
Stack with a treble or a bass booster (according to taste and other gear) and for a totally life changing experience: try with a fat squarewave fuzz, too.
(gear used: Ibanez Standard Fuzz, Fuzzhugger fx Hugger, Fuzzhugger fx AB-Synth, DOD Meat Box)

Re: What the Fuzz!
Guitarist from The Parish used my meathead dark clone with a Sovtek head, and it worked great for crust. They're more on the doomy side, but it's tight enough to work for D-Beat and grind. I love it when I see a d-beat / crust band that's moved beyond the typical DS-1 ---> Peavey or Marshall setup. Yeah, it works, but it also sounds like every other crust band.

If it really works, do You want to fix it?
But it sounds like You're still unhappy and if You are then it just doesn't do it for You? in that case: onwards, to new fuzzy territories!

Hell yeah, I want to fix it! Not for me, I don't even own a DS-1. For all the dang crust bands I have to hear with the SAME setup-sound. Three crappy Crate 2x12" combos would work. I want GT3500H, or fuzz, or go home!
The other guitarist from Parish said HE should have snagged my meathead clone inst of letting the other guy use it. I want all the grind and crust bands to adopt a fuzz pedal, even if it's only for half the set!

Even the guys that use the HM-2!*
*on medication today, may be a little off on that last part...
