Re: Frampton
the thing is, before Peter Frampton was a cliche/laughingstock for his adorable blonde locks and charming little pop ditties he was a screamingly brilliant rock guitarist, the guy responsible for all the long, LONG, jazz-inflected Les Paul Custom solos on Humble Pie's Performance/Rockin the Fillmore and quite possibly one of the most under-rated guitarists of the early 70s now that his playing back then has been so totally overshadowed by his pop image. by 1976 he was a pop laughingstock...in 1971 he was Mick Ronson with chops. go ahead and laugh...but then go buy the fucking record, which is probably available for $7.99 new as a back-catalog CD, and we'll see who laughs last.
