space echo substitutes
i love the roland space echo. but i don't wanna buy one if there's something else on the market that has that deep awesome verb/delay combo. any suggestions or things that you could generally use in place of a space echo? or fuck it, maybe convince me to buy a space echo, idk.

The reissued large-boxed Howard Davis-tweaked external-adapter'd Deluxe Memory Man I use sounds really really really similar to my RE-201.

the whole sentence reads as if it has delay on it.

Re: space echo substitutes
when i think of "Space Echo substitutes" i think of devices that'll simulate multi-head tape delay. the digital Roland emulator doesn't quite get it for my taste, but is OK i guess. the PodXT's Space Echo is better than you'd expect. lately i'm leaning towards the Akai Headrush, because it loops and because Jonny Greenwood uses it. it surprises me how relatively few multi-head simulators there are in the market.

It actually has a multi-head mode that is based off of a Space Echo. That, and the built in spring reverb, and you have a winning combination.

Digitech Time Bender has decent multi-head settings; I can dial in a reasonable facsimile of my old RE-301 (no verb though) with it.

Re: space echo substitutes
funny I was googling this same thing yesterday...
anybody experience one of these?
http://www.muzasound.com/guitareffects_fd900.html

not exactly a space echo sub i would say, but has separate knobs/programs for reverbs and delays, stereo ins/outs. 4 preset buttons. more in the RV3 vein i would guess but a little more flexible.
