i love Syd, but it's not exactly as if continuing the Floyd with Syd was a viable option. what were they supposed to do, just go home and cry? if anyone ruined Pink Floyd, it was the people who kept selling/giving Syd psychedelics after he was already obviously gone.

and it's not as if the rest of Pink Floyd's career wasn't a wake for Syd that never ended because he didn't die, either. he and his madness hung like that inflatable pig over every single thing the Floyd did from 1968 to now. really, they were a concept band about Syd Barrett.

ridiculously awesome song. Although I prefer the Ummagumma version personally.

just to put somethin back on topic (i do not care about gilmours tone - can he play rhythm guitar parts?) here a owner talks:
J-Fuzz wrote:i bought a ng-2. wanted to demo it for you all a while ago but just never got around to it for one reason or another. soon though. now that i'm back home i'll have a lot more time to do shit like that. anyway, i don't know about much of his stuff. however, the ng-2 is the sickest dirt box i've ever owned. i can honestly say i've never heard anything like it before. i fucking quit smoking weed for 3 months to be able to afford this pedal before my name came up, and it was sooo worth it. that's saying something because i really love weed.

Gilmour's playing melts my heart

i can't say i feel like this about anyone else... not on that level anyway

my two cents...

i'm not a fan of Syd, not a big fan of Roger, i love David and Rick and those two together are THE Pink Floyd to me :) Playing-wise, singing-wise... whatever

I know someone here has a Cornish... how heavy it is? weight-wise ofcourse not in "OMFG DUDE UR ZO HEVYYYY"

Yeah....I don't think many people realize the influence that Ezrin had on the sound of that album. He wrote the orchestral charts, played quite a bit of the keyboards and mediated between Waters and Gilmour while having his own ideas about the sonic direction various songs should take.
