Don't mean to hijack, but how does that work? Like how does it amplify sound in the tin can? Doesn't it need to be plugged into an amp? Or does it function as a sort of a bullhorn thats picked up by the PUs even though it's not connected to any amplication itself?

the thing he holds up to his guitar and talks through is called a "megamouth". they were a children's toy that they used to make. i remember him talking about it in an interview and i asked him about it when i saw the nels cline singers in nashville.
