Fantastic! I'm very much looking forward to playing with northless! It shouldnt be hard to get nick to play if two of his bands are playing the same night!

YES! NORTHLESS RULES!!

Sorry to chime in late on this. I've been in NYC this past week... HiFi might be able to play, but we're just coming back from an East Coast tour at the end of August. So they might not be into it. I will certainly ask. If we can't make it happen I'm sure my other band, Like Like The The The Death, would be able to play.

Edit: Heh, I'm running out of characters in my signature. I'll have to trim it down.

I would prefer a 2 day fest, just so the music doesnt start at 11 am to fit it all in.
All those weekends are good for me, let me double check witht he rest of the raygun, I think Rot Box is in, too.

Ok, so, this is hopefully everything in one summary post.

ILFest will be in Milwaukee on September 2nd and 3rd at the Borg Ward. (Two days because Aen gets what Aen wants.) I'm on renting the venue this week. I'm capping the number of bands at 8, since we're already at two days of festival and that's a lot of music!

Confirmed FO SHURE bands that can play:
The Otto Modest
Canyons of Static
The Abominable Showmen
The Ronald Raygun
Group of the Altos
Northless
the bohemian spaceship

Bands I'm still waiting to hear from to know FO SHURE FO SHURE:
IFIHADAHIFI / Like Like The The The Death
ROT BOX
Kudzuu (bobloblah's band)
Me and Mountains

Let me know if I missed anyone. I think this is everyone.

There will be gallery space available for pedal builders to display their wares. I'm willing to receive a box of pedals in the mail, set them up, tear them down, and ship them back to you. We won't be able to sell gear for you, though.. so you've gotta show up in person to do any deals. And we'd prefer if you came in person anyways!
Definitely displaying their pedals:
Dwarfcraft.

I'm hoping other builders will be keen to come.

Promotion:
I'll be building a website with a blog, a Facebook page, twitter account, and posting the concert to last.fm, meetup, etc. Any other places I should be promoting online?

I need as much concert-planning knowledge as possible from you guys. Please share any ideas you have, and anything you've learned. I'm far from an expert on this.

Also, we need to get on some copy to promote the concert and getting a poster together.. If anyone wants to volunteer to write up some stuff ( I can provide details and general info to cover) or wants to do the graphic design, that'd be awesome.

We'll also need to be planning the logistics of blanketing Milwaukee in posters and printing t-shirts or hoodies, I'm thinking.

One note- The Borg Ward is a booze-free all ages venue. As much as I want beers on beers, that may prove to be an issue.

Yeah - I remembered after posting this that it was usually a BYOB affair when I was there.. there's that store right there.

Hmm. Do we want to try and go after a 21+ venue or is all-ages and no beer cool with folks? I like the Borg Ward a lot, and it's very affordable, whereas I'm not sure I can afford to book another place.. :idk:

I know that it's kosher if the bands drink in the "band room", but any drinking in the main space is a no-no. I don't know the true legality of this, but another possible option is maybe making this a 21+ show. You still can't serve beer perse... But people could drink it if they bring it.

Well, I've planned events that weren't concerts, and we just got a one-day liquor license from the city and had a licensed bartender serve it, and it was all cool. But in this case, maybe we'll just keep it all-ages.
