Yeah I got big hands. But I definitely feel like going a custom warmoth route is for me. Now that I have things semi-planned out I think I'd be disappointed if I settled for anything else.

This thread has finally inspired me to take action and build my own Jazzmaster, it certainly won't be traditional though.

The body will be mahogany
Neck and Fretboard: Maple
Transparent black finish with red pearloid pickguard
HSS pickup set up
28" Baritone scale

This will bring the heavies

Cheers man! From the small time I've had the CP I honestly couldn't be happier with it. I was worried about the screw in trem but having used it I'm super happy with it. No stiffness or loss of that Jazz/Jag smooth trem action. I'd totally recommend picking one up.

Did not read thread.
Squier- feels great, sounds god unplugged, never had a chance to plug one in.

Blacktop- Looks allright, bridge is a shambling mess, not so solid, fit and finish are dodgey, bridge humbucker sounds like a pliers in a 5 gallon bucket. (shit)

"Classic vibe" MExican- best bang for your buck. Rock solid, sounds great right out of the box, feels great. Really great guitars.

Japanese - neck and body are nice, bridge is again a shambling mess, pickups sound like rusty razor blades in tin cans. REQUIRES expensive upgrades. and they've always felt like a bunch of parts to me instead of one solid unit.

US/AVRI- look great, feel great, sound great, until you hit hard, because the bridge is a shambling mess, although less crap than the blacktop in my experience. a $30 buzz stop could probably solve this, but a mustang bridge AND a buzzstop would set you freeeeeee as a bird.

I wonder if you could get stew-mac to put together a Jazzy kit for you. Their prices seem to be much nicer, even though the wire included in the Acme kits might bring the mojos. The SG wiring kit is fairly similar. Shouldn't be too hard to pick up the missing pieces. I'm actually going to be picking up some parts from them to upgrade my '72 custom tele. So far I haven't been able to find better prices.

I've found cheaper ones, I just meant as a general rule. But I've got the whole thing pretty much planned out. Now I just gotta find the cashola to get started.
