Yeah it would be pretty expensive for nostalgia

It doesn't sound /bad/ and the cut/boost knobs are kind of a neat tone stack. If I was going to build a true-bypass clone, I'd probably halve the gain. But that's just me.

Also, an OD into a Muff probably gets a much better scooped fuzz tone. Dunno how "metal" you think the Metal Master is, but I don't think many metal bands would find use for it. It's more of an OD into transistor-y distortion, and even with the lowz and treblz boosted it sounds kinda thin compared to something heavy like the Algal Bloom.

I got pretty good rock and roll out of it for years
Running it into a plush head and 2x15 it definately had some swat
no-where near my dime tribute/ubermetal/dirty bomb but it had some swat, lots of white noise too

I think the white noise in the signal is what makes it sound thin to me.

Ready to deliver the Fuzzifersermon tomorrow from the Gospel of the Sawtooth, in the name of the Squarewave, and the Oscillation, and the Black Noise, Amen.

Basses and Droning devices > EHX Switchblade > Dwarfcraft TGD > Fuzzhugger fx Hugger >>> in inloop: Custom XS AB-Synth > DOD Meat Box > vint. Ibanez Standard Fuzz > Boss Space Echo RE20 :out the loop>>> Korg Pitch Black tuner > Devi Ever fx Spectacular Aenima >>> in loop: The St :animal: Über Manglesteins Creature (a heavily modded Devi Ever fx Bit Manger) > Boss Bass Chorus CEB3 :out the loop >>> Devi Ever Truly Beautiful Disaster > Snarling Dog Mold Spore Wah > Borr RC50 looper/sampler pedal. And in the amp fx loop (no pic, sorry) the old Digitech TSR-12 multi fx rack.

...and then comes the McSpunckle fx And aardvark and the Br00tlz MiniGnome...

...doesn't perhaps look that much, compared to some other monstrosities, but believe me, I do A HELL OF A LOT of different things with this setup.

Whoa, that looks exactly like my old AB-Synth. Did you buy that off me, Bassus, or off of someone else? I don't even remember who I sold it to.

I bought it from You, with the DE Soda Meiser (in 2009 when You needed the cash for the MoogerFooger). Says #23 in the side. 1/3 of this finish, one of the first custom XS size AB-Synths.
