Overrated dude? Maybe. He's pretty cool, does his own thing, is highly opinionated. That makes him threatening for a lot of people that want to tow the line and don't come up with their own opinions.

It also makes him appeal to a lot of people who want to appear edgy without having to come up with their own opinions

he reminds me of that one kid in high school whose entire ideology was based upon a kneejerkish avoidance of anything considered "popular" or "mainstream," mostly due to himself not being accepted into this more mainstream crowd at some earlier point.

He also did all the neurosis records <3. He is very talented and charges a fair price for his recordings. Although I some what disagree with him on digital vs analog (and I love analog recordings), it doesn't take away from him as an engineer.
