What amp should I buy?

Need some help here. I just sold my amp, and am looking for another one. I've tried doing some research but really can't seem to decide. You guys are smart. Help me out here.

We're influenced by guys like Dinosaur Jr, Sloan, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, The Ventures, and the other guitar player loves the Kinks. It's more of a 90s kinda band, but we vear off into Post Rock stuff and more punky surf stuff too. It sounds stupid when I say it out loud, but I can't think to explain any other way. We can get heavy at points too. I don't know. We're all over the board, but who isn't?

Anyway, the amp I sold before was a 1983 Fender Concert II. It was rad, it just didn't sound right most of the time with these dudes. I don't know. I'm looking for something else.

Here's what I would like/important things to know.

- I play a tele most of the time with a humbucker in the neck, but I picked up a Jaguar a couple of days ago and haven't put it down since. So it has to be able to take bright sounding guitars well.
- It has to be able to stay clean for a while. I use clean sounds a lot.
- A nice od/distortion preferred. Think something like the influences I listed or the SS/BS Fuck. It doesn't have to be a high gain beast, but shouldn't get to ratty at higher gain settings if it has them.
- It's got to be able to take pedals well.
- Two Channels are preferred.
- Don't care if it's 100 watts. We play loud, but I know that even 15 watts usually goes a long way.
- Old, new, discontinued, it doesn't matter.
- Oh, and I don't have a car... I should be able to put this on a trolley and take it on the subway/bus. This means combos are preferred. I love big amps, but uhh... those are hard to get around.


I really have no idea what I want... I'm just looking for some suggestions. In terms of price, I'm going to be selling my VHT 2x12 slant cab and a couple other things, but should be able to squeeze out around $800 maybe more. I buy EVERYTHING used though, so feel free to suggest stuff that costs way more. I have knack for finding things at low prices.

No, get a Dwarfcraft Love Buzz. Sadly I think you'll only find them new for full price, but maybe you can find one used, in which case it'd be in your price range with some haggling.
