Nah, dual pedals are too much of a pain to wire plus we want to do less vinyl finishes/custom orders. That's why I do top mounted jacks, so you can put the pedals real close together and pretend they're a dual or triple pedal.

Can, and do.

Congrats!!! I talked a bit with J about pedals Saturday night after the show in PDX. He loves pedals for sure, as if we didn't know that already.

Cool! I'd love to meet him in person! I was pretty tickled to even do emails with him. Seems like a neat guy and I like his music and Jazzmasters, it was really exciting to make him some pedals.
What show did you see on Saturday, his solo acoustic show or was Dino Jr. playing? How are your ears today??

First time I saw him play was in Shinjuku in 1995... I do think my left ear has slightly diminished hearing as a result of that show, not kidding either I didn't wear earplugs. Doah! On the otherhand Saturday was just acoustic. The volume was perfect. It was a really good turn out too. I had a lot of fun, drank too much. He was using a pair of gibson acoustics, for pedals he used a fuzz factory for his distorted sounds and a lofi so that he could do leads over a loop. I think he was straight into the PA. Really simple but very effective setup for a solo gig.
Next time he is in your neck of the woods go to the show, introduce yourself. I think you'd have a blast talking gear!

I wish J and I got to be better/closer buddies... he's a man of few words and didn't really respond to any of my queries about hanging out, jamming, me staying at his house for a month, recording together, playing video games together, him helping me to get my hair as cool looking as his, me borrowing 8 full stacks from him, me borrowing some sparkly guitars from him, changing his band name to Dinosaur Sr. now that we're all a little older ... nothin'! *looks down and kicks a rock*
I just LOLed so hard!!!!

I'd like to see this acoustic tour for sure.. I've never been to a Dino Jr show either though. He's definitely influenced my desire for a Jazzmaster lately...
Dennis, you're a big rock star and you'd let me hang out at your house for a month and play all your guitars and do all that stuff, right?

You are right, J is a man of few words in general, but I've seen him get caught at the right moment once or twice. When I was living in NYC 1995-2000, my old girlfriend and I chatted him up a couple of times. One time at one of his solo acoustic shows, he was standing at the back watching Mike Johnson do his own set, and people were trying to kind of be cool like it was no big deal. We accosted him and he was really nice, kind of funny and sarcastic. She even got him to say what street he lived on, which was close to her, so later we even walked around until we found which building had his name on the buzzer (sad, I know). She ran a web chat with him later on when she worked at some now-defunct website (the Hub maybe), which ended up being one of the funniest Q & As he's done. Also, we saw sometimes Dinosaur Jr. drummer George Berz's band Angel Rot play at the Knitting Factory, and J was in the audience totally heckling them!
Good times, good times. Anyway, the guy does have impeccable taste in gear. Wonder if he's used the Frazz in the studio? I don't have a great ear so can't always tell what's what. But the recent Dino Jr. albums have some fine fuzz tones.
My left ear is also permanently not quite the same due to attempting no ear plugs at one of their shows! Wouldn't have it any other way! Also, I ended up meeting the guy whose face is in the sun on the first Dinosaur Jr. album cover--J noticed him in the audience at a show in '96 and said "Artie--brotherman!". Arthur Hurwitz is his name. Old friend of the band. Okay, enough obscure trivia for now.

Cool tales, thanks for sharing!
He seems like a funny cool dude in interviews.. I love the ones where he's kinda spaced out and difficult, I get a kick out of that. I don't know if he's used his Frazz or RRR in the studio.. so I just assume that's all he uses. *smile*
