I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a barbershop.

Barbershops and four eyes are yummy. Also, they are in stock.

The Unpleasant Surprise? No clue, other than what's already on the website.

Also, just wanted to echo what's already been said..I really like the look/sound of all of the Fairfield stuff, but I do hope the prices come down some :erm:

I guy I know suggested a new project to Guillaume a while ago, I am now eager to hear what it is
P.S This guy likes Neurosis, so I can agree with his ideas on effects.

Yeah I'm really GASing on their ring mod. There's one on TB for $325, but I just can't muster up the dough right now. :-(

I think the Moogerfooger is way more bang for the dollars. However, they ended production to bring the price down and change it up a bit so maybe it'll be what it should in my opinion.

that's what kept me from going for the RR, the fact that the Moog is more feature-rich. not that i can afford either at present. but if the RR were a certain percentage cheaper it would be entirely irresistable...it's by far the most "musical-sounding" ring mod i've ever heard, whatever that means.

i noticed yesterday that Analogue Haven has the Unpleasant Surprise listed as "Coming Soon" on the front page of their website. this may be indicative of nothing, since they may have had that listing there for months, but it's a data point.

Yeah, the Moog is more versatile, but the RR sounds a lot better to me. :idk: And that preamp in the Moogerfoogers drives me fucking nuts.

Oh that's right, isn't it always on? I thought the new ones bypass this when bypassed.

I hadn't heard that. It'd be great if that were the case, because having the preamp always on really fucked with my rig. The FreqBox I have works like that, which is why it's the only Moog pedal I've kept.

Errr this has some Randy's Revenge at the end.

http://awmusic.ca/1/mp3/Dinosaur%20Feat ... 20Tree.mp3

For nerding purposes, it's a Subdecay Prometheus on the bass, a Moog Ring Mod on the backing vocal, a Maxon PH-350 and some other stuff I don't remember (I'm guessing a DMM) on the electric guitar that sounds like an electric guitar, and an HBE Frostbite (and Boss PS-3, sparingly) on the electric guitar that doesn't sound like an electric guitar. Almost forgot, Throbak Overdrive Boost on the bass during the slow part.
