I have one guitar in standard EADGBE
One in Drop D DADGBE
And on in a E maj cord but a whole step down DADF#AD
But usually standard.

Wouldn't that just be a D maj then? You have the 1, 3, and 5 there. D E F# G A B C#

Nope, it is the notes fo an E maj. chord but down a whole step, the notes ina D maj. chord are different. Bu I understand where you are coming from. I could also play the song I need that guitar for in DADGBE.

Well I tried it originally for some more Soukous style playing, but it really brightens up chords nicely so it's great for some twee-style playing.

Yeah, if you look at a D major chord, the notes in it are D, A and F#

eBGDAA - Low e is tuned to an octave below the a string.

It's great! My band used to do this until we shifted everything down a step.
