So it looks like I'm gonna have to try the CP and AVRI to see if the difference is really that big to me. Hopefully the CP is close enough for my tastes, otherwise I'll have to wait around for a super used deal. I definitely wanna go for the JM pickups so the CIJ doesn't sound like it's for me.

Thanks gang. Still wouldn't mind more info if something hasn't been covered.

You could always try to find a deal on a MIJ and then swap out the pickups?

Does anyone have experience with Warmoth builds? I'm thinking I might go this route. A maple neck would be super preferable, and I would love an orange Jazzy.

Ditto. (On strats I always did better with one-piece maple, so I assume that would carry over.)

I actually have Warmoth Jazzy parts on the way. They should be here tomorrow.
I could tell you in a couple of weeks. :p

Whoever you order from, if you're getting an orange jazzy, have them use a white primer as a base...FUCKIN CREAM(SICLE)MASTER aka the JIZZSICLE. The maple neck would even match as a stick.

I believe they actually call the color creamsicle orange.

Once I have a little more experience with guitar electronics, I'm definitely going this route. On a side note, anyone see a problem with going with a cbs strat neck instead of the standard JM neck? Cuz I think a fat headstock would be TIZZITE.

The heel is the the same size and shape as the Strat and CBS necks, the JM just has an in between sized headstock.
I went with a CBS, myself.

Dammit Mathias, you got me GASing over those Xaivieres now. FRom what I hear with some possible shielding and tightening of the trem bar it's ready to fly. Maybe stick a warmoth or fender neck in there to get rid of that fat orange one....

CaptainWampum wrote:Yeah, I've heard negative things about the tremolo hitting the bridge or it buzzing or whatever. Also it's expensive as shit for a Mexican made guitar. But damn it sounds good.

I wish there was just a "standard" Jazzmaster for me to look at or play. I feel overwhelmed with all these weird ones.

Lies.

Play one. serious they're better than the 90's MIJs and way easier to get.

the difference in trem is negligible. yea it's closer but it also saves you the problem of having to buy a mastery or Mustang bridge on top of your initial investment.

as an owner of both the order for me goes AVRI, MIM, CIJ/MIJ

playability wise the smaller neck on the Jap jags are nice but you gotta have smallerish hands like me.

Yeah I got big hands. But I definitely feel like going a custom warmoth route is for me. Now that I have things semi-planned out I think I'd be disappointed if I settled for anything else.

...But I still want one of the CP's too...

Bought a sunburst CP today!! :!!!: :yay:

My first real guitar was a CIJ Jazzmaster which I sold and regretted. Feels amazing to have a new one. Like coming home
