Yeah it sounds similar if you crank the gain on the "rawk" mode, but the DLS feels and responds completely like a cranked marshall tube.
I just discovered the best thing about this pedal. All this time I've been using the rawk mode, but the "rock" mode's gain cranked all the way sounds incredible! Can't believe I didn't discover this before.

i'm confused what part sounds like a rat? All i know is the "shoegaze" demo video made me want this pedal for a long time now... I NEED that sound!

I had a DLS, but had Mike at R&D make me a zendrive in a kickass enclosure. I get THAT sound better. I was using the DLS for lower gain, which was good. But I prefer the zendrive. It doesn't get muddy on my neck pup, and reminds me of SY in a box.

I can see the third demo being compared to the rat. But it's a very different type of pedal so...

Ok, how the hell do you get it to run in 12v mode. I've hooked up 2 different 12v power supplies and it does nothing. halp!
