I was in rehearsals for the next musical (which opens on Friday), and the Music Director mentioned that she needed someone that could play eight bars of ukulele in the finale (ghosting the actress onstage that will be playing one). She looked over and said "Jon, you bought a uke in February, right? (which I did). Wanna do it?"
I don't get a doubler's fee (civic theatres here don't do that), but I do get my name in the program to say "ukulele" right by the bass one. Played through the show last night with the cast, and everyone loved those eight bars. Kind of funny to carry in an EUB and a uke into a theatre.
Plus, I got an endorsement offer from Levy's gigbags. Not a bad way to start this week.

Re: Crazy week
Thanks, gents.
Ironically, when I bought the uke I told the salesperson, "Just give me the cheapest bag you have; it's not going to leave the house!" and here I am with a month of gigs on it. However, artist pricing at Levy's makes a leather uke gigbag very affordable.
