Yay! I finally broke down and bought a 2x12. I realized I wasn't going to find a miraculous deal for $50. However, a Tube Works 2x12 that had been $150 before went on clearance for $110 at Music-go-Round, so I hiked my ass over there. I only got to play for a little bit, but it's loud, which is what I mostly wanted, adds a nice low end to my chimey Vox sound, but doesn't get muddy at all. It has the original Tube Works speakers. I'm not too familiar with speaker brands, but they sound good all the same. It's also surprisingly light and easy to carry. Looks like this(not mine, I'll get some pics up in the next day or so, makes my AC15 look tiny):
I'm so pumped, my rig is coming together. I also picked up a Danelectro Fish'n'Chips EQ for $20 which should provide even more fun to play with. It's gonna be noise city from here on out.
tl;dr

My brother used to have a 2x12 just like that, sounded surprisingly good considering he paid around $100. His had a removable back on the bottom portion so you could run it in an open/closed configuration, nice feature. We used to joke it looked like a car subwoofer cab with the grey carpet and all and he eventually replaced the speakers, but at that price, you can afford to experiment with it a little.
I've also seen quite a few guys with Tube Works bass cabs, always sounded good to me...Also, I know Tube Works was a Genz Benz company at one time and they still offer support if you have any questions about it.
