Soda Meiser question...

Post by Radiohead625 »

So i just got my soda meiser with a chaos switch in... After playing with it I realized that it all, but kills my high frequencies. Is this something this pedal is known for? I mean it sounds cool, but when playing on the high e and b, it's almost in audible compared to the rest of the strings. :?:

Just when the chaos is engaged or all the time?

I don't think that's normal, but try messing around with you pickups (tone, volume, etc) to see if you can get any from those two strings. Trouble shoot cables and stuff, too. If you still have the problem afterward, I'd send it back, or ask for more help in the DIY section on here and Devi's forum.

Do you mean for chords? because the upper strings get pretty washed out on chords...it's all about power chords with ULTRA lowend and freakout single note runs with that pedal.

It's even with single note lines on those strings it washes out though.. unfortunately im not at home to mess with it... other than the wash out its a cool pedal.

I had the same opinion on mine. I had the one that I think nearly everyone on the forum had at one time or another, very nearly literally everyone.

I tried it out with my friend's guitar and got a better high-frequency response out of it. If you're using lower output humbuckers, like my guitar had then, I don't think there's a way to get more highs without stacking it.

I've never starved a sm before, but if it's on a daisy chain with a million other pedals it's possible that it's not getting enough power and cutting the highs. And +1 on chords getting washed out.

This.
And I'm perfectly happy with that. I'm not EVH. :barf:

I was using the pedal by itself with a epiphone es335.. I was trying to play the black keys and the single notes sounded real cool, but not the chords. Oh well i figure this out, or just get a Green muff made lol

ya black keys and band of skull tones are my favorite... i got it to try something maybe different and it had that cool switch, but there are plenty of things that can give me cool effects like that.

I use the SM is more for heavily detuned doomy/sludgey stuff or for that ultra saturated pumpkins kinda thing.
You'd probably dig the hoof.
