ILFest - Sept 3, 2011 in Milwaukee - ZOMG!

Post by mathias »

Are there any shows or festivals happening in the Midwest in 2011 that we should all go to and meet up at? We've got so many folks in the WI/Minn/Ill/StL and such that it is inevitable we meet up. We just need to plan it.

We have Loufest, but I don't know if I'm going. Pitchfork is more my vibe, but I'm not really into the whole festival thing. What we need to do is pick a city and have an ILFestival:
The Otto Modest, IFIHADAHIFI, The Ronald Raygun, Canyons of Static & whoeverelse I'm forgetting.

Milwaukee has the perfect venue for that. Actually, Ithink Canyons of Static are playing there this week. They played there last year in April and I was reading an old site. OOPS.

I wonder if Ross will chime in here.

I'm in a band (not IfIHadAHiFi) with one of the guys who lives at Borg Ward.

If you guys really want to put something together I'm sure we could make it happen!

Keep meaning to make it to a show at the Borg Ward.

My friend Kevin talked up our little experimental/noise jam session at the Milwaukee Makerspace and basically got in invitation to play there when we finally get our act together enough to perform something, and if they have an open spot in the far future or whatever.

Speaking of the jam session, next time we hold it, it'd be awesome if you guys could come and see what we're up to! :-) It's half making loud noises and half building electronic instruments, effects pedals, synths, and even stringed instruments at this point.

I wish I had a band :grumpy: I'd be in.

But if this happens, I'll be there in the front row rocking out

Yeah, man! Just let me know. I'll see if I can rally the troops.

We'd be in as well, that drive is definitely not out of our comfort zone. Especially if we could gig on either side of it, and had a place to crash. Even if not, we'd do it. ILFest!

ILFest! ILFest! ILFest!

I just realized if this happens, we'd have to, like, promote it or something. Otherwise it'd probably just end up being Mathias and me in the audience.
