Last time I played my electric (last week) I accidentally bumped it while playing and the spring reverb tank made this big, loud crash of reverb.. can this potentially damage the amp? or is it nothing to wory about?..
if a spring reverb tank takes a REALLY hard hit, it can damage the electrical connections at the ends of the spring coils and potentially kill the tank. you probably won't do this from bumping into the amp, but i've had a reverb tank killed by shipping an amp cross-country.

Yeah. Luckily most spring reverbs I've taken apart can be unhooked carefully and then packed with something soft, like that craft foam stuff (this stuff, but in sheets, just linking to something everyone might recognize as being made out of the same material) or I suppose with packing peanuts, before shipping.

allow me to elaborate. more specifically, my 1x12 combo was picked up (carefully, by the handle) and moved. (not more than 6 inches) while I was playing...
Yeah, it should still be ok. The impact when it was set down made those springs BOUNCE. They're very sensitive, or else they wouldn't work as a reverb for the tiny signals they're being pulsed with.

tubes are taking kicks (to the surrounding cabinet) quite good. do not think too much about gear that works since the 50ies of the last(!) century... i never had any issues and me same as futerailors loving tubes spring splashes!
