Two of the builders over on Shortscale do 'em.

Wow, MadeByMike's prices are fantastic!! A little googling shows that he's got a pretty good reputation. Thanks!

That is sort of a misconception.
the "smoothest" Sovtek Muff I have ever played was actually a Tall Font green version.
I have had 3 Civil War Muffs, and what sets them apart is really the booming lowend.
The green versions just don't have that.
But when it comes to smooth lead tones, the Tall Font greeny is the best, IMHO.

change "slightly" to extremely.
its like they know what the green sounded like, but the circuit is not the same at all.
getting a black sovtek will get you closer actually.

The green one I have is really boomy [not a tall font]
Way more then the black ones.. I keep meaning to mod my black one into a CW...On the BBM VS Green..

Ya the BBM has much more boom... even though it's bass i'll take your word for it
the old SUF GRM was based on the tall font right? Sorry if that's a dumb question... don't know a lot about all the muffs

Actually the if by boom you mean lows, it is actually the other way round, listen with a sub.. ALL the Sovtek/Russian made ones have tons more lows then the BBM even when it's "bass boost" is on.
I don't know much about clones.. I have no need for one.. and if I did I'd just build one from a GGG kit

Also I'm pretty sure the black was discontinued as well, so you'd have to go used, cone or build on that one too.

Re: Best Green Muff...
I didnt see the green muff on GGG, but i just might make the green muff my first build. The Wren and cuff is almost as much as a used sovtek, but is probably killed with quality. This will probably be a harder than normal since you have to match trannys and stuff.

Re: Best Green Muff...
You really just have to sit down with a few muffs yourself.
I wouldn't worry too much about which version does what best, you never know how a pedal will react with your setup/play style.
Most tonal descriptors are HIGHLY subjective.
Nobody will mistake a fuzzface for a muff, but once you get into muff vs muff it's a lot of opinion/conjecture.

Re: Best Green Muff...
I figured it out
... i want a version 2 or 3 of the russian green muff. Took me awhile and now i just need to find a good builder with a good price. Maybe SUF will make me one of these
