haha I was just kidding. I do think that the Talk Box is almost impossible to use tastefully though.

I don't really dislike any effects in general but there are a lot of units that I don't like.

i'm not a chorus fan, but generally speaking there's a few things on my M9 that i find absolutely useless, most of them being from the filter section. i just can't see myself using a "growler" in a song. also, i can't stand overpriced effects that are priced for the name *COUGH KLON COUGH*. and while i'm at it, from what i've heard about this Dumble guy, i hate him too.anyone that makes you audition for an amp that they build and then has the balls to charge $25,000 can suck it.

When used as an effect rather than "fixing poor notes" it can be kind of cool. Or fun.

I used to have an old Ibanez rack delay/-verb/-modulation in the early 90's as my first effect with the fuzz, provided some heavy Hawkwindy grazynes all right. But after a year or so I learned to absolutely loath delay and reverb. Sounded, to me, that You're playing like a fucking retard repeating his picks or playing in the toilet That's why I bought chorus. Used to put it on at one-two-three-STOMP-play. Clean attacks, nothing that would soften or distance the power chords.

Much, much later, like, a year or two ago I got on the delay train. Different projects need different tools, right? Now I wonder just HOW have I managed without one. So... at the moment there's nothing I'd really hate. Just feel silly for having hated the delay and verb.

Dammit Dev! You stole my idea. I was going to agree with unownunown. There's not a whole lot that I don't like. I do think there's a place for everything........ but then the thought of autotune hit me!!! I hate that crap! For two reasons:

1. You're using it for the reason it was created. It can be a helpful tool, but now anyone can sing. This has been a huge disservice to pop music. I haven't also been a big fan of the genre, but at least you could say "at least they're a good singer." Now you can't even say that anymore. And what is autotune doing in rock music? It's supposed to be raw. I'm not saying "recorded in a toilet punk's not dead" raw. I'm saying if you think you're a badass, but you can sing your own songs, you need to gtfo.

2. You're using it as an effect. I hate this use of it even more. It's so cliche now. Everyone's doing it. It was interesting when Cher and Daft Punk did it, but now it's just finger nails on a chalkboard. Stop doing what's been done a million times, and think of something new... or at least wait 25 years for the cycle to come back around so it can sound fresh and interesting again.

I think what bothers me is not so much the effect, but the people who see something that was a success (or innovative), and copy it to death... and then use it for another 5 years on top of that. I enjoy 80's music, but there were some cliches: chorus, digital was the rage, absurd amounts of reverb on snare. Now a-days it's autotune. Also, the whole "post-rock" slightly overdriven guitar playing 1/4-1/8 note runs on a single string through reverb and delay is getting a bit old for me. There's not enough innovative thinking in music as there should be. Just a very small minority, with the rest trying to leach off their success.
