Come to my Makerspace's shop in Milwaukee and we can arrange that.

(wish it had the Flickr notes overlay to point out what everything is. oh well. There's a bridgeport mill, CNC machine, about 4 drill presses, lathe, bandsaws, arbor press, all manner of hand tools, welders, plasma cutters, laser cutter, PCB etching stuff and a PCB-cutting CNC, a full electronics lab with oscilloscopes, etc, and the most important part: a pinball machine.)

Yes, I'm always up for giving tours and playing with the tools

Edit: hopefully the music group has some more projects to show off by then. We've got an entire church organ worth of organ pipes that we're going to hang them up on the walls, hook up to a midibox and trigger via Twitter or RFID cards..

When it is done, there will be clips. Lots of folks want to get this done, and if the CNC router project is any indication, these guys can all build stuff fast and still have it be well-made. (All those walls + doors in the pic went up in November, equipment got moved in December, we built the CNC router over the past 3 months or so and it can probably route a guitar body right now, but we haven't figured out all the CAD software.)
Here's the most complex thing we've routed on the CNC machine we built:

Re: Aluminum neck guitars
The mill could probably be used to machine one, it's just a lot of work
When we have a CNC that can cut aluminum (we're not sure if the CNC router can be adapted to do it yet, but it has a modular tool mount) we could do it faster, we'd just need to program the CAD files..

Re: Aluminum neck guitars
The bass player in my school jazz band has an aluminum neck Kramer bass and it plays and looks good.

Re: Aluminum neck guitars
I played a Kramer aluminum neck in the first band I was ever in. It belonged to my bandmate's father. That was back in 1995, but I remember notes ringing out forever and it had a really special tone when played through distortion.
